Throughout the 2022-2023 season, Steele Subaru goaltender Joey Hawco has been fundrasing for Indspire, a charity that invests in the education of Indigenous youth. For every save he makes this season, Hawco has been donating $0.25 towards his goal of $1000. Inspired by his commitment to the community, the NSU18MHL has made a donation of $500, which was presented to Joey by league President Paul Graham prior to Sunday's Steele Subaru home game vs the South SHore Mustangs.
