The Subarus opened their Regular Season at the 2nd Annual League Showcase this weekend in New Glasgow. Playing 4 games in about 31 hours, the Subz put together a record of 3-1, which puts them in 3rd place in the league standings. 

Game 1 saw the Subarus defeat Cape Breton West 4-0, with Ryan Langlois scoring the first Subaru goal of the year. Luke Foster, Ben Mercer, and Cody Garcin scored the remaining goals. Noah Harvey earned his 1st shut out of the season.

Game 2 saw the Subarus defeat the Macs in a shootout, 4-3. Camden Pellerine scored the first 2 Subaru goals, and Will Normandeau scored the 3rd. In the shootout, Pellerine, Blake Pilgrim-Edwards, and Mercer all scored, while Subaru goalie Joey Hawco stopped 1 of 2 Macs shooters to earn his 1st U18 Major Win.

Game 3 resulted in a 6-3 loss for the Subarus, who ran into a hard working Sydney team. Foster scored 1 Subaru goal, while Elliot Kavanaugh, and Zachary Jenkins each scored their 1st U18 Major goals.

Game 4 was a bounce back 6-0 win over the South Shore Mustangs. Mercer scored twice, and Malcolm Green, Jake Beardsmore, Foster, and Jenkins each had 1. It was the 1st U18 Major goal for Beardsmore. Harvey earned his 2nd shutout of the season.

Next weekend sees the Subarus head to Berwick for our first game against the undefeated Valley Wildcats (4-0-0), 7pm on Saturday. This game is scheduled to be broadcast on eastlink.

On Sunday, we visit the South Shore Mustangs (0-3-1) in Bridgewater, 12pm.
